We love Escondido. We’re proud to be part of the neighborhood and the farmers, artisans, and neighbors who make it great.
“We are passionate about contributing to the community that has supported us all these years. We are excited to be a part of a new generation of businesses adding our part to the city’s deep history.”
Our building was once a photography studio with living space above — a piece of Escondido’s history that we’re honored to carry forward. We hope, in a small way, to help build connections between our fellow neighbors.
Looking for a way to raise funds for a local charity or school? We’d love to help arrange your group’s next fundraiser. We’ve partnered with local organizations across Escondido and North County to give back to the community that has given so much to us.
Reach out to Kayla directly to get started. We’ll work with you to create an event your community will love.

Weddings, corporate events, birthday parties — we bring a self-contained gelato case and handle the rest so you can enjoy every moment.
kayla@escogelato.com"Hands down the best gelato I've had outside of Italy. The honey lavender is unlike anything I've ever tasted — floral, creamy, perfect. We drive from Encinitas just for this place."
"A hidden gem in downtown Escondido. The flavors rotate constantly so there's always something new and exciting. Coffee is excellent too — espresso drinks are legit. Absolutely love this place."
"We used EscoGelato for our wedding and it was the highlight of dessert hour. The team was professional, everything ran smoothly, and guests are still talking about it. Highly recommend for any event."
We're proud to call downtown Escondido home. We source from local farmers, partner with neighborhood businesses, and believe that great food builds great communities.
We celebrate the agricultural heritage of the Escondido valley. The fresh fruit in your sorbet was likely picked just miles away. We work with farmers at the Escondido Farmer's Market and are proud supporters of our local community. When you visit us at 122 South Kalmia, you're supporting something bigger than a scoop of gelato.
We're open every day from 10am to 8pm. Order online for pickup, or just come find us on South Kalmia in downtown Escondido.
Kayla started working at EscoGelato as a senior in high school — one of five original employees when it opened in March 2012. In 2018, she and founder Suzanne traveled to Rimini, Italy for a gelato convention. That trip changed everything. “I am so happy to make my first job my dream job finally. I will continue to put a smile on people’s faces with a simple scoop of gelato and carry on the traditions that Suzanne worked so hard to achieve. All I want is to make my nana proud and I hope you stop by and see what EscoGelato has to offer.” — Kayla Siaca
Grew up in Escondido, studied in Spain, fell in love with gelato. After years abroad, she turned that passion into EscoGelato — a dream she built right in her hometown.
